Dragon Spine
“…I find an overpowering sensation rising in my spine. It permeates my whole body, unfitting me for the performance of my duties.”
This sentence, spoken by Swami Pranabananda in The Autobiography of a Yogi (page 31), jumped out at me, resonating.
Something similar happened years ago when I felt a “snap” at the back of my neck and down I went, paralyzed for three days. My brain-body was never the same and it continues to be a challenge for me to perform “my duties” in this linear world that revolves around mental information and detail.
The spine is the earthly home of S/He Dragon as light bounces off matter through the multi-colored chakra wheels of light. Dragon guards these jeweled treasures.
Humans look for wealth outside themselves when a treasure chest of priceless gems is already within.
In my book S/He Dragon ~ How I Found My Wings I wrote: “I never imagined I would find my wings. No one even told me I had wings.”
Here and now I write, “I never imagined I would find a guru. I have never sought a guru.”
In the book Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda “guru” is defined on page 3 as:
Spiritual Teacher. The Guru Gita (verse 17) aptly describes the guru as “dispeller of darkness” (from gu, “darkness,” and ru, “that which dispels”).
I continue to relate to this spiritual teacher, Yogananda, from invisible to visible and visible to invisible realms. These feedback loops give and receive, inhale and exhale, ebb and flow. This pulsation is causing me to be still and read more about Yogananda.
One Chain, Many Links
Several weeks ago I was being self-critical and heard a voice say, “O’ ye, of little faith.” Recently I felt burned out, due to the many care-giving tasks in my life, and I heard a voice say, “Your life is not a burden, it is of service.”
Paramahansa Yogananda has entered my spiritual awareness. (I have written about him in my book S/He Dragon and in recent posts on this web site.) I am conscious of his presence and credit his spirit for the uplifting feedback I have been receiving.
This feedback moves as one chain with many links. The chain represents Spiritual Truth and the links represent the many teachers who deliver enlightening “good news.” These teachers do not bicker about right or wrong, nor do they act out aggressively. Doing so breaks the chain into weak links. These teachers bring light through one chain, whole and holy via universal law — a cosmic political system.
